Preserving an 1800s hospital through historic rehab and affordable housing.

No, it’s not Hogwarts. But those who happen upon the imposing St. Vincent’s Hospital building, nestled in a wooded pocket of St. Louis County, may think they’ve found a hidden castle. Built in the 1890s, St. Vincent’s is perhaps the St. Louis area’s finest example of the Chateauesque architectural style. Now called Castle Park Apartments, our renovation of this 209-unit apartment building was funded in part by historic preservation and low-income housing tax credits. Scope included all new mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, elevator upgrades, roof, new historic windows, storm water management, extensive masonry restoration and all new interior finishes. The project also included a sitework package, consisting of all new utilities, downspout leaders, parking lot resurfacing and fencing.
